About me

From introverted field technician to team leader and why I'm passionate about helping you succeed

Shaffick Mohammed

My Story

I started as a field technician. Almost 30 years later, I retired as a leader managing enterprise cybersecurity and telecommunications programs for a Fortune 100 company with $40M+ impact.

But here's what most people don't know: I was introverted. Quiet in meetings. Better at technical work than self-promotion.

Early in my career, I was passed over for a promotion. My manager's feedback? "You do great technical work, but you don't speak up enough in meetings."

I was frustrated. Why should I have to perform confidence I didn't feel?

But over the next few years, I learned something crucial: It's not about becoming fake or extroverted. It's about learning to communicate your value clearly and consistently.

In 2014, I discovered another passion: teaching at the college level. For years I had developed corporate training materials, but teaching gave me a path beyond the 8-5 grind—a way to use the skills I'd learned to help others start their career paths.

I went beyond the textbook and incorporated a leadership series where I could help students not only with required theory, but help them speak for themselves and showcase what they were learning. The feedback was consistent: students were more successful both academically and professionally. My mentors told me I had a gift for this work.

So I decided to take my years of corporate experience and create a business helping others avoid the struggles I faced.

What I Offer Today

While my primary focus is career coaching and leadership development, I also leverage my cybersecurity and technology expertise to help small businesses modernize and secure their operations.

Career & Leadership Coaching (Primary Focus)

I help ambitious professionals who are technically brilliant but professionally overlooked—teaching them to communicate their value, negotiate effectively, and advance their careers with confidence. This is where I spend 80% of my time, working with introverted high-performers who need strategies, not generic advice.

Technology & Cybersecurity Advisory (Secondary Offering)

Through my network of technology vendors, I help small businesses (1-10 employees) with system security, network infrastructure, technology modernization, and scalability planning. I coordinate the technical implementation while ensuring you understand and own your technology strategy.

Whether you need help advancing your career through better communication OR securing your business through better technology, I bring 25+ years of Fortune 100 experience to help you succeed.

Why I Do This

I've taught hundreds of students over the past 7+ years. Many were technically brilliant and top of their class, exceptional problem-solvers.

But I watched too many of them struggle after graduation. Not with technical skills with proving their worth, speaking up in meetings, negotiating fair compensation, and advancing their careers.

They had the competence. They lacked the confidence and communication strategies.

That's the gap I'm here to close.

If you're technically brilliant but professionally overlooked, I can help you build the communication skills and confidence strategies to advocate for your worth and navigate your career effectively.
